This was the steppingstone that eventually led him to build training and coaching programs for a national team of advisors, sales reps and leaders. The most recent case with a large prospect was with BSP advisor Tom Geoghegan. He had a $12M – $14M prospect which was well beyond his comfort zone and his typical client. Tom and I had a preliminary discussion to discuss the Waterfall methodology and how to help a HNW client understand their finances and then how to position those finances currently and in the future to meet the family’s goals. Tom and I then met to discuss the prospect’s finances and current holdings. We identified the 3 – 4 big issues that needed a solution in order for the prospect to maximize his goals and minimize the future taxes paid to the government. I coached Tom through the talking points and built up his confidence for the upcoming prospect meeting. Tom was successful in obtaining the prospect’s business which when fully implemented will be his largest client and a nice increase to his AUM.
